Stop making stupid decisions and start powering up your business. Demolish your business nightmares and start celebrating as your business fulfills its promise.

And these brilliant business tips are all here for free! So settle in and scoop up these tantalizing goodies before your competition does!

#10. Water the Money Tree

Our first jaw-dropping tip is all about improving business cash flow. We all know how vital the bottom line is. And we also know, particularly when it comes to younger businesses, how hard it can be to consistently keep cash in the till.

At Noobpreneur, they know this problem all too well, and offer five great solutions. We particularly liked their fourth solution, which is taking out a line of credit. This just so happens to be one of our fave solutions as well. In fact, we love this solution so much, it’s part and parcel of what we tend to suggest here!

We also liked their second tip, which is to speed up receivables. The article talks about (for example) providing more options to pay, but our idea is different, as we suggest account receivables financing.

#9. Do You Like Me? Yes or No?

The next awesome tip is about improving your online reviews. ThriveHive offers five ways to improve your online reviews. And the beauty is that these are all easy to act on. The first should probably be a no-brainer (you might be surprised) – and it’s to provide better customer service. Ta da!

What, we hear you say? It’s obvious? Welllll, it just might not be to everyone. Think about the last time you looked at reviews on Amazon. There are reviews by verified purchasers, or they have pictures. Or reviewers just seem to have an axe to grind.

But there’s another subset of reviewers who weren’t happy with their purchases – yet they still say good things about the company. If you were waiting for the delivery of, say, a briefcase, and the package never came, wouldn’t you love to work with a company that offered you a refund or a replacement immediately, as opposed to one that did not?

So check out their suggestions – we already do one of them (making it easy to leave a review), we like it so much!

#8. From Dream to Done

Our following life-changing tip concerns four mental skills for successful business leaders. Entrepreneur cut to the chase with four terrific skills you would need to know.

We were especially enamored of the second skill, which has to do with visualizing success. The method was easy to follow, and it made a lot of sense to us.

The idea is to not just visualize success, but to incorporate all of your senses. So here’s a true story about doing just that.

The Wedding

Anyone who’s ever planned a wedding knows there are a million little details. But what better way to do that than by thinking in terms of the senses?

For your intrepid reporter, this meant thinking of how the DJ and the songs would sound. It meant how the cake and meal would taste, and how the flowers would look and smell. And of course it also meant how the apparel would look and how the tables would be decorated.

The wedding (over 26 years ago) went off without a hitch. Full-sense visualization helps you to remember.

Want more about skills but would like a list that’s more down to earth? Then (spoiler alert) check out tip #6, below. We won’t tell if you skip ahead while reading.

#7. Let Me Hear Your Body Talk

For our next sensational tip, we looked at the importance of body language at business meetings. The folks at Leadership Thoughts gathered together a number of sensational tips to help you show the right posture to assure business meeting success.

Bonus: how they lay out what happens during handshakes should be a blog post unto itself.

#6. Mad Entrepreneur Skills Right Here

This tip is so thorough, and it works! Larry Kim, the CEO of MobileMonkey, recently posted on Medium a definitive list of 14 skills that successful entrepreneurs need to have.

Two of the skills might seem to be in conflict with each other, but we think they might not be. Those skills are being a planner, and being a risk taker.

Plan the Work and Work the Plan

Planning is essential, and it’s effective. It’s one of the easiest ways to get and stay on track. But Kim offers a caveat, that the planner must be flexible and roll with the punches if things change.

Roll the Dice and Embrace Risk

The risk-taker goes all in, hoping for the best but being able to deal with the worst. And this dovetails with another listed skill: handling failure with aplomb. Being an optimist is great, and it’s creative – but Kim also recognizes that being a pessimist often gets the scut work done.

#5. All Hail the Conquering Business Hero’s Viral Marketing Victory!

Irresistible - Grab Viral Marketing Victory with Both Hands –10 Brilliant Business Tips of the WeekGrab this mind-blowing tip while it’s hot! Viral marketing victory doesn’t wait for anyone!

The fine folks at UpViral jammed in seventeen (yes, 17!) amazing ideas for viral marketing. And the absolute best part is that truly any business can do it.

Don’t believe me?

The article – which I highly recommend you read from start to finish – starts with three basic principles which the most successful viral marketing companies do, and I quote:

“1: Offer an incentive that’s irresistible

2: Give people the chance to win your incentive by referring their friends

3: Repeat the entire process”

There is nothing in there about cute kittens or cash up front or any need for an exciting business or industry in this simple equation. The article focuses on growing an email list but this advice could be used for just about anything where you want to ride the viral train.

True Story

Give incentive - Grab Viral Marketing Victory with Both Hands –10 Brilliant Business Tips of the WeekSo gather ‘round the virtual campfire a moment for a true story.

Several years ago, your intrepid reporter worked for a nursing employment recruitment company. And if you have been watching employment reports or American demographics lately, you’ll see that nursing is exploding as a profession, and a lot of that has to do with the rise in the average age of the American population.

However, the stock photographs of nurses tend to be truly awful. Plus a search for a nurse’s image can inevitably detour into Halloween costumes and all sorts of inappropriate stuff, complete with high heels and a lot of other things not suitable for a family blog.

‘Nuff said.

For this company, we devised a campaign, and it was kind of missing the first principle, but it had the other two in spades.

The Offer

Repeat - Grab Viral Marketing Victory with Both Hands –10 Brilliant Business Tips of the WeekThe offer was – send us your nursing photos, whatever they are, just something that says ‘you’, and have your friends in the profession do so as well. The photos become the property of the company to do with as they wish. And the more friends they referred, the more likely they would win a bonus, pizza at the nurses’ station for anywhere in the US.

The company was unprepared for the outpouring. One thing to keep in mind is that travel nursing is huge these days. So they would receive images of nurses in Haiti or Senegal, or posing in front of the Grand Canyon. There were selfies taken before heading into the operating room and there were pinning ceremonies galore.

Of course a lot of the photos were of less than stellar quality. But that was okay. The company still got what it needed: photos of nurses! And by offering pizza – which they delivered on more than once – they got the recipients talking on social media. It was a win all around.

Back to Our Program

So, you might not be offering pizza, or you might want to but your budget says no. And you may not be looking for something as common and easy to provide as photographs. But the concept of an irresistible incentive coupled with rewards for spreading the message? That’s universal.

In the article, UpViral mentions one great idea we loved – a leaderboard. Hence it gamifies the entire experience. If your prospects need to refer friends or send in virtual box tops or whatever, the leaderboard shows them where they stand in the competition. And excitement – plus a desire to return to the same page to check on status again and again is baked right in.

There now, trying to go viral might just be up your business’s alley.

#4. Reach Out and Business Will Be There

Check out this spectacular tip, all about a seven-day outreach plan. LeadFuze put together a comprehensive way to grow a new business with outreach. They lay it all out for you, including how to find decent prospects and how and when to follow up.

For a lot of companies, their future success starts with their first days and what happens during them. With this article, you can make your business’s first week a powerhouse.

#3. Take Your Customers on a Sentimental Journey. Kinda, Sorta

It’s not your imagination: this winning tip can help you improve your products. Wonderflow dug out ten interesting examples of sentiment analysis and what it can do for you.

Our favorite by far was the most negative one – using sentiment analysis to keep a crisis from spiraling out of control. And they give the best advice we know of to handle a crisis: listen, identify the problem, and review and respond. And for God’s sake, apologize!

#2. Wrap it Up; I’ll Take it

Our second to last unbeatable tip can give you a new perspective on great product packaging, which Jilt says is a must in e-commerce. After all, it’s the first tangible impression your customer will get of your business and what it does. Delighted customers share socially, and that includes unboxing videos.

Plus product packaging is an unparalleled opportunity to reinforce branding and company reputation. So pay attention not just to what’s in the box, but to the box itself.

#1. Watch Out for Flying Reindeer! The Holidays are Coming!

We saved the best for last. For our favorite remarkable tip, we focused on how the holidays are coming, sooner than you think. Seriously, it was just March, right? And don’t even get us started on Chanukah (December 2 – 10 of this year – yikes!).

Thankfully, Kim Garst has twenty-five excellent gift ideas for the entrepreneur in your life (which could be you!).

But which ones caught our fancy? Read on.

The Gifts We Loved

The first gift we thought was cool was a subscription to the Wine of the Month Club. You help the recipient save a trip to the store and at the same time you get to show off your good taste.

And we all know someone who could desperately use the Logitech washable keyboard, for when dining al desko gets messy.

Speaking of liquids, how about Aqua Notes, where you can jot down your inspiration while you’re in the shower (hey, the sound of the water can get you in a relaxed, creative mood)?

Is your business owner friend working from home? Then there are noises galore (don’t get us started on the construction all summer). So why not pick up a pair of Bose QuietComfort Wireless noise-cancelling headphones for them? Plus those headphones could come in handy during public transportation, too. But not while bicycling please – safety first!

Over to You for a Viral Marketing Victory and More

So which one of our brilliant business tips was your favorite? And which one will you be implementing now?
